Brooklyn born and based experimentalist and multi-instrumentalist, L’Rain releases her hotly anticipated album Fatigue due out via Mexican Summer on the 25th June.
On Fatigue, L’Rain’s collages of personal experiences are guided by genres that stretch from post-punk to free jazz to R&B and beyond. It demands introspection from ready ears with an array of keyboards, synths, and hauntingly delicate vocals that create a genre entirely her own, and through it she is mapping the enormity of how to change.
L’Rain has dipped her toes in every corner of the arts, through her work at some of the most prestigious art institutions in NYC, including MoMA PS1, and collaborations with the likes of Naama Tsabar, Kevin Beasley, Justin Allen, Helado Negro and others in contemporary arts. Her 2017 self-titled debut album earned international critical acclaim including as one of Pitchfork’s Best Experimental Albums of the year.
